Our Story

Laine and Janet, both Louisiana natives, have been in-time ministry for over 30 years, serving the Lord in various churches. While based in  Michigan, they discovered a local farm that opened its beautiful barn full of Christmas goodies to the public for a few weekends each holiday season. For their family of eight, it became tradition for them to go! One day as they were shopping, Laine told Janet that he thought at some point she would have her own shop.  She is a certified wedding floral designer and has her own business designing weddings and other events.  So, designing a beautiful barn and making a shop out of it truly would be a dream come true for her!

When they moved back to Louisiana to be close to family, Laine built their new home next door to his parent's on the family farm.  When it was finished he started on the barn.  Laine decided it was time to fulfill Janet's dream of a barn.  Not just any barn, but a barn that would not only house the family's horses, but be a beautiful barn that could be turned into a winter wonderland or any seasonal wonderland, for that matter.  He began to work building off the land by bringing in trees that he harvested to his saw mill and making the lumber for the barn.  In just three short months, he had it built.  Janet then set out to decorate it and make it a warm and inviting place for visitors from the community and those who would drive a distance to get there just in time for the Christmas season.   Designer wreathes, one-of-a-kind stained art pieces along with many other gift items  were made and used to decorate the barn.  With the vintage lights glowing many that came to visit said it had a Hallmark movie feel to it.

We invite you and your family to come out and make it a tradition, just as we did!  You can bring the kids for  pony rides and of course shop the barn for special gifts whether for yourself or others as well as the bakery with incredible cinnamon rolls,  giant cookies, popcorn and a hot chocolate bar.  It's a special place and we look forward to your visit!

WHAT OUR VISITORS SAY

The girls and I had a wonderful time visiting the Red Truck Barn today.  Felt like home at Christmas wrapped into one little barn.  The girls enjoyed the pony ride, carriage ride, feeding the ponies, and the sweet treats.  Her displays are beautiful.  Great place to add to the Christmas spirit and thankfulness of the season.
